Through it's songs, Moana explores what it means to have a life calling that doesn't fit easily into your world, what it means to let go of everything that's holding you back, how the greatest tragedies are born of good intentions, and how we might all make peace with the fire inside us by returning her heart.
It shows how our monsters are born out of our pain and how we don't need to defeat them, but rather transform them through the ultimate act of love. It reveals the ways a desire for acceptance can blind us to both the good and the bad aspects of our true nature.
