Review of Moana (2016) by Schnitzelpoof — 22 Mar 2017
A thoroughly enjoyable mythological hero story, where the two main characters interact beautifully with one another. The songs are uplifting, and the visuals are breathtaking. Jemaine Clement as Tamatoa is a definite highlight, but all the voice actors are doing an excellent job.
Having watched the movie twice - which I hardly ever too - I can't find a serious flaw with it, except the length, and the somewhat sudden ending. There are some pesky symbolism & social messages, if you're looking for them, but they're not forced upon the audience like in many other current films, so you can choose to simply enjoy an adventure in which everyone is great in their own way.
