Challenges Zootopia for animated film of the year, with its own positive messages to boot. The animation is hands down the farthest Disney has ever ventured, thanks to its lush setting and vast scale. New actress Cravalho is excellent as Moana and she has a fantastic singing voice.
However, a rather big flaw is the soundtrack aside from a few highlights (We Know the Way, How Far I'll Go). Many of the songs have catchy choruses, but in overall quality, it doesn't come close to measuring up to the classics, or even the more-recent gems such as Tangled.
