Denzel Washington and Jazz! Nothing can be smoother than that. I gotta hand it to Spike Lee for TAKING THE TIME to direct a story about a Jazz musician and to show audiences a different type of music. For one of Lee's earlier works I'd say this film is quite good.
But just like anything else that is not "cookie-cutter" if you have a low attention span then you might not enjoy the movie as it doesn't fly by in typical "predictable" Hollywood style.
