Review of Mo' Better Blues (1990) by Gareth M — 08 Feb 2011
Kept thinking of the bloke off Jazz Club sketches "Nice! ;)". Its flows quite well, obviously dated in the fashion sense, but has lots of nice signature touches, with the argument with the 2 girls simultaiously, being the best and most fun one.
Both Denzel and Spike have star quality, not convinced by Snipes as the saxophonist with attitude. Samuel L Jackson as a debt collector hitman quite amusing, but the film for what it is, A loyally piece, a music piece, or whatever just goes on far too long, meandering into repetition.
Decent though.
