Review of Mixed Nuts (1994) by Beverley M — 14 Jul 2008
As a Steve Martin fanatic, this sort of pains me, but... this movie was pretty terrible. I had to fastforward through some of it, I just couldn't take it. Martin is completely by the book here, and even Parker Posey is nearly unlikable.
Surprisingly, Adam Sandler's bit role as the loony neighbor kinda saved the movie. Most of the laughs come from him, and he's only in it a little bit. Basically, this film suffers from bad actors and a bad script.
The plot itself could've been used for a much better movie, but instead this is pretty lame. This was Steve Martin's worst movie up to this point. Maybe ever.
