Review of Mistress America (2015) by Spencer N — 05 Sep 2015
Not quite what I had anticipated but Noah Baumbach does a really fine job making a movie about realistic hopes, dreams, and struggles of modern contemporary women in the real world.
Everything zips by so rapidly in here; the two leads speak every second always about what's on their minds, there's a lot of conflicting emotions from so many people, and Greta Gerwig and Lola Kirke spark such chemistry it just happens naturally on its own.
Life in the city isn't easy and neither are friendships but 'Mistress America' is relevant, poignant, and rather honest.
