Review of Mississippi Grind (2015) by Panos Y — 18 Jun 2018
For the past few years one of my favorite actors has been an Australian by the name of Ben Mendelsohn. Typically, I had seen him in roles playing very shady, uncomfortable, border line sociopathic characters (See Animal Kingdom).
He was always fantastic in the role, but they were smaller secondary characters. In this movie however he plays the main protagonist; a down-on-his-luck degenerate gambler, who meets a sure of himself, charismatic Ryan Reynolds.
Reynolds becomes his good luck charm and together they road-trip down the Mississippi to play a casino in New Orleans.
