This movie is an honest portrayal of the race relations circa 1964. Its a very hard movie to watch because of the honesty it brings to the situations. There is no sugar-coating the events in this movie.
The performances are top-notch. Gene Hackman's role and performance is probably one of his very best. Very affecting.
