Review of Mississippi Burning (1988) by Josh S — 13 Sep 2008
This was an expert film. Alan Parker uses amazing imagery. I could feel the weight of the eyes watching the black guy being questioned by the FBI, I could feel the unwelcome attitude throughout the town.
I could feel the hatred, and I could feel Hackman's boiling rage throughout the entire film. The movie actually plays just like Mad Max, whereas there is a huge comeback at the very end of the film.
But my goodness was this worth it. Great message and a great story put together with an excellent cast and writing.
