Review of Mississippi Burning (1988) by Shaun K L — 19 Sep 2010
I found this to be a very powerful and thought provocing film. it upset me to see people treated the way the Africian American's where in those days, I don't understand it, how much hatred they had for them. All I could understand was that the Whites had been brought up and taught that this was okay to treat people who are different this way. Both Hackman and Dafoe where really great, Hackman I thought was a standout.
The film really captured what it was like in the 60's and how hard Afician Americans had it. I really felt for them. I think the world would be a very different place if Martin Luther king Jr and people like him did not stand up for what was right.
