Review of Mississippi Burning (1988) by Darren P — 14 Mar 2012
"Mississippi Burning" is skillfully energetic, and I am going to say it - pulse pounding. It takes a true story and does something controversial - it undoubtedly fictionalizes the truth and makes it a dramatization.
However, this was done with such care and respect for the sheer emotion of the time, place, and circumstances, the movie feels more like a study of what it FELT like to be in the South at this time, rather than making it a simple biography.
I respect that.
