Review of Mission to Mars (2000) by Shannon B — 19 Jan 2008

I guess I have to go against the grain with this one, I actually found this movie enjoyable and entertaining. The film's visuals were quite interesting and were done very well. The film's story and plot could need a little clearing up to do, but nonetheless, I didn't find myself dying in boredom or spacing off.

There were some boring scenes, but what movies doesn't include a long and boring dramatic sequence? The film was a little weird at first when the first group landed on Mars and I guess some weird and large sandstorm began to happened, but got a little better afterwards.

Now, the ending was a great climax. The ending was totally random, but it worked, and I totally enjoyed the metaphorical aspects and visuals toward the ending. Actually, the ending of this film kind of reminded me of the ending to another space film "2001: A Space Odyssey".
