Review of Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation (2015) by Hunter S — 27 Aug 2016
Tom Cruise returns to play Ethan Hunt in the 5th Mission Impossible of the series, Rogue Nation. This time he is trying to track a network of rogue agents across various countries known as the Syndicate.
He runs into a double agent in the process (Rebecca Ferguson), and the element of who can you trust begins. If things were not bad enough, the CIA led by Alec Baldwin has determined to shut down IMF, and they want to capture Hunt dead or alive.
Pegg, Renner and Rhames all resume there roles as well. Rogue Nation has a pretty standard plot that reminds me quite a bit of the plot of the 007 Quantum of Solace. The film has some decent scenes, but it is mostly a forgettable film and should be the last of the series.
