Review of Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation (2015) by Christopher O — 29 Dec 2015
"Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to make as many Mission Impossible films as possible before Tom Cruise can no longer walk", and why the hell not. Ethan Hunt and co return in a typically explosive, action packed adventure, although this time focusing on a unique terrorist threat.
.. Okay so the basis of the story has perhaps been done before. I fully expected this however, and was more interested in the inventive action sequences and plot twists that can be found in previous MI films.
These came in abundance, and whilst it was annoying not being able to decide which side certain characters were on, it did keep me guessing until the very end. Once again Simon Pegg provides a light hearted and comic addition to the cast.
His enjoyment of the role shines through, making his reactions and acting appear particularly genuine. Whist not quite living up to the heights of the 3rd installment, MI4 very much deserves a watch and good rating.
