Review of Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation (2015) by Tyler O — 16 Mar 2016
When you look back at the first MI it's easy to see this series has come such an incredibly long way in terms of presentation, action & overall entertainment. These movies keep getting bigger & better with Tom Cruise proving he's still got what it takes to carry a major blockbuster on his shoulders (even in his 50s) & completely pull it off while charming us at the same time.
Franchises usually never make it to their 5th film & this is proof for the ones that do - you don't need to change it up so completely & piss the fans off. The formula is relatively the same as previous MI films but it still felt fresh & exciting.
The introduction of agent Faust was welcomed & Simon Pegg provided just enough comic relief as always. But if I'm being 100% honest, I did enjoy the previous film slightly more.
