Review of Mission: Impossible III (2006) by Troy F — 25 Jul 2015
The Mission: Impossible film series really has an interesting variation in the direction taken with each film. The first film was strong on cast and plot, but lacked energy. M:I 2 was better paced and energetic with some slick action, but the antagonist was a bit forgettable and the film didn't quite keep a fine balance between what Ethan Hunt should and shouldn't be.
Mission Impossible 3 combines just about everything a movie in the spy adventure genre should into a cohesive film with Phillip Seymour Hoffman playing an interesting, blunt take on a villainous persona.
Ethan Hunt is a man who achieves the near impossible through stealth tactics, and gets his time to shine in gunfights and attacks, showcasing his skillful sides as a spy agent, and this movie shows just that.
A strong sequel in the franchise that finally found the series going in a proper direction.
