Review of Mission: Impossible III (2006) by John H — 03 Feb 2012
This is the first MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE to actually have a genuine pulse, evading the lack of restraint of its predecessor and the lack of conviction in the original. This is because Abrams, a director with an assured knack for characterization, finally makes Tom Cruise's Ethan Hunt a convincing character, finally giving us a reason to care about events.
The performances in general are stronger than in the previous installments (special mention goes to Hoffman and Monaghan), while the action sequences have genuine, as opposed to manufactured, thrills.
