Review of Mission: Impossible III (2006) by Nathan E — 30 Aug 2012
Definitely the second best of the series, and a decided improvement over the disaster that was Mission: Impossible 2. Cruise does what Cruise does best, and his new crew of cohorts are charming. Ving Rhames is always great.
But what makes this film a stark contrast to M:I 2 is the direction of the action. There is purpose and heart in director J.J. Abrams' action sequences, and they're not just there to look cool (though I must say that in certain contexts, looking cool isn't bad, either).
