Ethan must protect his identity and his girlfriend from a psychotic and sadistic arms dealer. J.J. Abrahams' entrance in the Mission Impossible saga is more reminiscent of the TV series than the other films, yet its weak screenplay is sometimes frustratingly playing it too safe.
