Review of Mission: Impossible II (2000) by Manish A — 02 Apr 2014
I could, and probably will argue that Mission: Impossible 2, to give it a proper, less retarded title is pretty much all style and no substance, it initially struggles to maintain the interest, but after a little while you kind of get used to the flashy and oh so trashy style.
Once things start to get moving and the action ramps up I found myself quite enjoying Ethan Hunt's second adventure, but you can't help but feel it lacks something compared to the original, and certainly falls short of the third film.
Action scenes are superbly choreographed and shot. But I felt there is a lack of a genuine connection to the characters and their motivations. A good, solid and mostly entertaining two hours, but not one of the greats.
