Review of Mission: Impossible II (2000) by Owen D — 30 Apr 2012
This film was weird... how are we supposed to believe that there are deep feelings for two people if they talked for 10 minutes or so, went through a non-thrilling car chase, and then... eh... anyway, that was stupid.
The action scenes were flashy and all, but they're ruined by constant SLOOOOOW MOOOOOTION HURR-DURR DURR. The karate-kick knife-slashing fight at the end dragged on for only John Woo knows how long.
I did like one particular action scene, when cars are chasing each other and there's a lot of explosions... Tom Cruise is smiling cheesily almost all the time at the beginning, did I mention the stupid dialogue? The first one was great, this one sucks.
