Review of Mission: Impossible II (2000) by Radek C — 19 Dec 2011

Okay, when I said you should suspend your common sense for the first M:I. I didn't mean this much! This movie is an exercise in sheer ludicroudy. Cheesy one liners come at a rate of about every ten seconds, the story is boring and silly. Cruise is in top douche bag egomaniacal smiley mode for the whole movie and John Woo, with his overdose on slow-mo, trying to make everyone look cool and sexy, was a bad choice for director for this. Don't get me wrong, Woo is a director of great talent when it comes to action and the action scenes in this movie are at times pretty cool, but this shows that not every action director is suited to every action movie.

Thank God the next two M:I's were as good as they were, or this series would've left a bad taste in everyone's mouth.
