Review of Mission: Impossible II (2000) by Adam K — 23 Jul 2012
Even with action auteur John Woo calling the shots, this misfire blockbuster is plagued with a plot that lacks any mind or substance and some of the action sequences become too fancy for themselves. There are a few moments to be enjoyed, but with ridicules such as a car chase choreographed to look like a dance, an all too familiar madman is out to destroy a city plot, and a heavy focus on a rather cheesy romance angle, this quickly slips off the slope from action blockbuster to cliche yawn fest.
