Review of Mission: Impossible II (2000) by Scott A — 08 Mar 2013
Okay, while I felt bored with the original, this one was kind of over kill on the crazy action. It's the series took to the third film to find the right balance.
Cruise is good here, but I didn't much think the new villain was very good. And Newton has always rubbed me the wrong way. Rhames was good as always. This one is even less a TEAM film, more a Cruise with others occasionally helping him. Hopkins seems out of place too.
Like I said, the action can be totally over the top at times. The final chase has some crazy stunts that could never happen in real life and the beach fight is kind of too simple after all that huge action.
I actually didn't mind the Limp Bizket versions of the theme song oddly.
