Review of Mission: Impossible II (2000) by Anders P — 23 Jun 2013
Why this film gets so much hate I'll never know, but I still love it. The plot is a bit simplistic however: the team basically has to stop a madman from unleashing a virus that has the potential to wipe out humanity.
But the plot isn't what I love about this film, it is the teriffic action scenes, good acting, and sense of style. This installment was directed by John Woo (Face/Off, Hardboiled) so you obviously have a ton of slow motion setpieces.
They look really awesome, epecially during the motorcycle chase near the end. If you are looking for a film that is very deep and complex, you won't find it here. But what you will find is a cool film that boast good witty dialouge, triple-a acting, and action set pieces that truly dazzle.
Mission Impossible is a nonstop thrill ride from beginning to end.
