Review of Mission: Impossible II (2000) by Lou A — 17 Aug 2015
John Woo on the director's chair for the sequel to the 1996 film, and what you get is a well-made action film minus the originality of approach that made the first one so special. The eye-candy is here in abundance and there's more screen time for that cool fella Ving Rhames too, which is a good thing.
You can't help but feel that the overblown plot is just an excuse for unleashing Hunt on screen once again, but you can't really complain: all hell breaks loose in grand fashion. Enjoyable stuff.
