It must be said Brad Bird is an awesome director. This would be his first attempt at live action and he does a pretty damn good job of it. I wouldn't say it's a revolutionary action film like Die Hard, Terminator 2 or The Dark Knight, but it's a thorough and well done action film.
This should be a default to what action films should be like.
