Review of Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol (2011) by Abhisek D — 05 Aug 2015
Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol should be commended for the sole reason that it manages to be a fresh and fun new iteration for the franchise, even with being the fourth film in the series. The film takes a step back from the gritty nature and tone of the third movie (which I also greatly enjoy actually) and focuses on being one non-stop thrill ride.
The action in this movie is very fun and the humor is on point as well, with Simon Pegg and Jeremy Renner standing out especially. The story is nothing special, and at times feels a little bit convoluted, but its main focus is to keep the action going and it does so in great fashion.
The film ends on a very happy note, revealing a twist for a character an not for the main story, which I though was actually very well done. Brad Bird really revitalized the franchise with this one and I am so happy he got the opportunity to do so because he managed to direct the finest Mission Impossible to date.
As of 2015.
