In my opinion, "Mission: Impossible" has surprisingly been one of the more consistent film series around today, despite the misstep that is M:I:2. Brad Bird helms this one, making his live-action directorial debut.

He has long been associated with animation, having worked on the Simpsons and the feature films "The Iron Giant" and Pixar's "The Incredibles". I have to give the guy credit for directing a quality action/adventure movie.

He also managed to avoid over-relying on CG, which is especially impressive considering his computer animation background. A good chunk of the stunts and effects were done practically, which is so refreshing these days.

I especially enjoyed the Dubai sequence, which was consistently entertaining from the moment Hunt realizes he has to climb the tallest building in the world, to the end of the sandstorm chase scene. I also liked this cast a lot, if they make a 5th entry in the series, I hope they'd bring back most of the members of this IMF team, as they were all well cast and worked well together.

I missed Rhames and wish he had a more substantial role than a cameo at the end, but if your going to replace his character. Pegg was a solid choice. I definitely enjoyed this film, and it was one of the better big blockbuster films to come out in the last few years.
