Review of Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol (2011) by James S — 05 Aug 2015
The fourth installment of the classic 'James Bond esque' franchise continues the trend, as Ethan and various colleagues are tasked with preventing a evil mastermind from committing nuclear damage.
Whilst a somewhat cliche and unimaginative plot, is does remain considerably clever throughout' particularly via the use of flashy gadgets and gizmos that will delight the viewer. I really enjoyed these intricate and tense scenes, and the grand surroundings only added to this.
Inevitably action packed scenes have to emerge, and despite being predictably unrealistic, they are exciting and creative. Simon Pegg keeps things light - hearted, without detracting from the seriousness of the film, and I am beginning to think that this is his ideal role (similarly in Star Trek).
Whilst nothing spectacular, this was a relatively thrilling watch, although the story line did appear confused at times.
