Mission Impossible Fallout starring "Old As **** Tom Cruise, Max Junior as a cannabis strand and... most of the other old guys. And some of the old girls.

This movie was terrible. It takes massive suspension of disbelief to follow the story without laughing at all the insane decisions made by... everyone. Most of it is just mindless action, there's barely any plot or engaging sequences like in the previous couple of movies... They just wing it. And they don't even improvise properly. I really don't understand how this can be rated higher than Ghost Protocol, for instance. That movie had stunning sequences. Palpable tension. Is it the sob ending? I don't get it. Is it because people want to believe a 56 year old can pull these stunts? Maybe.

Another thing that this movie doesn't deliver is that there is no actual "Mission Impossible" in it. Every single other movie had at least one scene where Ethan and his crew dive into some impossible task. The iconic CIA heist in the 1st, the Biocyte heist in the 2nd, the 48 hours Rabbitfoot hunt in the 3rd, which led Ethan to raid a skyscraper in Shanghai, the improvised Burj Khalifa meeting in the 4th that gave everybody vertigo and ofc the insane underwater scene in Morocco in the 5th. This movie? Doesn't have one.

I was so relieved when the credits rolled.

Now, as far as the critics praising the movie, I understand. I don't think those people ever had any sense. But the audience? That's unbelievable.
