Review of Mission: Impossible (1996) by Ollie W — 29 Jul 2011
Nobody, including Depalma, Cruise or Us, have a clue about what is happening. Lifts or discs or alarmed rooms or trains or self destructing messages or some stupid spy shit? I'm not sure, but it's enjoyable in a sort of premeditated, completely contrived, explosion-porn way.
The presence of the ever cool Jean Reno and Ving Rhames and the wonderfully camp villainy of Jon Voight also add to the entertainment factor of this blockbuster hokum.
