Review of Mission: Impossible (1996) by Jedi C — 31 Jul 2012
An underachievement in its genre due to action being guided in the wrong places due to the misguided, overly twisted, and incoherent story lacking a lot of tension, lame gadgets, and underrated performances not living up to the mission's premise.
Nor does it live up to it's genre. It just isn't everything an action/adventure film should be and mostly lame. Brian De Palma didn't direct the mission very well either, most of the action sequences were flawed and also incoherent.
The mission wasn't taken seriously either. Everything was squandered in 110 minutes lacking what's needed for coherence undone with underrated and stale visual effects but great film editing.
