Review of Mission: Impossible (1996) by Jake A — 04 Mar 2017
The first film in a long running series that for the most part improves upon the film prior as the series progressed and this film is a solid starting point for the series. Tom Cruise shows off not only his acting abilities but the fact he can be an action star more than any role he has had previous, the rest of the cast is solid with a good mix of veteran actors and relative newcomers to such a genre, the score is excellent, I like the action scenes, plenty of style thanks to De Palma and although the script is relatively barebones and the plot is somewhat predictable as it progresses it is all entertaining nonetheless.
