Review of Mission Impossible (1971) by Aslyn E — 27 Apr 2012
By far the most complex and plot-heavy entry in the MI series with only 2 set pieces of note. Fortunately they are of the highest quality and more welcome after the extended downtime. You can tell the makers realised the error of their ways with the subsequent films drastically simplified and popcorn in nature.
This was a good move and lead to the incredibly lucrative movie franchise still going strong 15 years later. A competent, if unremarkable and over complicated start.
