Review of Mission Impossible (1971) by Ted H — 08 Aug 2012
The first instalment of the Mission: Impossible franchise. I remember it being confusing and drawn out when I first watched it and it still feels a bit like that so many years on - especially when compared to its more recent counterparts.
Ethan Hunt is suspected of being a mole within the IMF and embarks on a mission to prove his innocence and uncover the true mole. In an action adventure that takes us from Prague to America to London, the action is all there but the unfolding of events is a bit hard to follow. The music is a little intrusive and some of the CG scenes look a bit dated by todays standards. Still, it is entertaining and includes some iconic scenes that have since been parodied and copied many times.
