Review of Mission Impossible (1971) by David M — 15 Sep 2015
The first of - to date - the four Mission: Impossible movies, where Tom Cruise fist takes on the role of IMF agent Ethan Hunt (and, I'm sorry, but every time I hear IMF - the International Monetary Fund - mentioned on the news, I can't help but think of these films).
Framed for the murder of the rest of his IMF team and disavowed, Ethan Hunt must go on the run while attempting to clear his name. Including the now-iconic hanging from wires while breaking into Langley scene, and the helicopter through the channel tunnel (as well as that theme tune!), this also has a more twisty turny plot than its immediate - and inferior - sequel.
