Review of Missing in Action 2: The Beginning (1985) by Ryan Z — 19 Jan 2009
A classic from my childhood due to my dad renting anything that had cool box art, MIA2 is a standard 1980's warsploitation movie. Sweaty, dirty POWs and a baggy-eyed Chuck sulk and take a lot of shit from the sadistic Soon-Teck Oh.
The infamous rat-in-the-bag scene is as good as you've heard. I've always been disturbed by the slow-motion bullet-through-the-head of the Australian guy... who shows up, I think, just to be shot in the head slo-mo style.
I stand by it.
