Review of Missing in Action 2: The Beginning (1985) by Senor C — 01 Sep 2010
I think that I may actually like this MIA movie better then the first one (even though I basically gave it the same rating). This time a prequel Chuck Norris & his platoon are captured by the Vietcong & are prisoners of war for something like 7 years.
I love TV regular Soon-Tek Oh as the villainous Colonel Yin who takes great pleasure in torturing Norris & his colleagues. It almost seems camp because he takes such joy in it w/ a devious smile that it makes me smile.
Also having Steve (21 Jump Streets Captain Fuller) Williams in the cast helps. He sold out his brothers & becomes Yin's personal bitch. I like the scene where Norris kicks his ass & is choking him out w/ his leg irons until he is spitting up blood.
The POW numbers are dwindling & it's up to Norris to escape, kill the bad guys & to get everybody's ass home. Could have used a little more action but makes up for it w/ a rat in a bag & placed on Norris's head as he's hung tortured upside down.
Norris is such a badass he just gnaws that rat to death. What you must do to survive the hell of Vietnam.
