Review of Miss You Already (2015) by John935 — 03 Mar 2016
Two Friends and a Cancer Death. Better than I expected. Death as subject matter is tough. What I liked about this is the absence of denial. Barrymore and Collete are amazing, as is Jackie Bisset in a supporting role.
(I haven't seen Barrymore this good since Grey Gardens.) It's not Cries & Whispers, not an art film, but there's a collective effort to give this the ring of truth and there are light moments and the guys are good in it too.
I usually don't recommend weepies but Miss You Already might surprise you, for being well made and brave.
