Review of Miss You Already (2015) by Vaughan M — 23 Oct 2015
Curious attempt to make girly comedy/ terminal illness film. Toni Colette is the flamboyant yet married with kids cancer sufferer and her best friend Drew Barrymore is sensible but single. Unlike most weepies, Colette goes a bit wild, has a fling, and has no intention of going gracefully which is a nice change for these sort of films.
However, mixing the spectre of death with riot grrl antics is not completely successful. Colette's character is quite annoyingly selfish and Barrymore a bit of a dullard. An odd but original take on a situation too many people sadly face.
