Review of Miss Sloane (2016) by Jake C — 06 Jan 2019
Chastain so adeptly embodies witty, driven, ruthless womenï¿ 1/2"the same sort of character she plays so well in the better MOLLY'S GAME and the worse JURASSIC WORLDï¿ 1/2"that despite the life she brings to the role, the affair still feels utterly rote.
Yet the movie's biggest failing, besides from being overly long and too formulaic, is the fantasy of it: The filmmakers hardly needed to dream up such a twisted tale to represent the sordidness of lobbying in DC, other than to give this tangle a happy endingï¿ 1/2"a lie even greater than those politicians tell.
