Review of Miss Potter (2006) by Michelle J — 13 Aug 2008
It's interesting how far this film deviates from Potter's real life - some of the interesting facets of her character, such as her scientific research into fungi spores, are completely omitted and she is instead portrayed as a ditzy pretty thing, who talks to bunnies.
But perhaps the study of fungi doesn't make a particularly good film, so I'll let them off. It's a light-hearted film, and Zellweger is as charming as she is as Bridget Jones. Thankfully the animated bunnies aren't overdone and the film isn't too saccharine.
