Review of Miss Potter (2006) by Tibor B — 31 Aug 2009
An exceedingly pleasant little film indeed, perfect on a sunday afternoon perhaps with a pot of tea. Zellweger rolls out her impeccable English accent and scrunches up her face more than usual, a sign that she is acting.
The countryside is beautifully shot, but its nothing more than window dressing for this light biopic with just a hint of dramatic despair to interrupt the pleasantries. There's some nice one-liners here and there, from snobbish Ma Potter and the moving paintings are kinda cute.
Excellent at what it does, which is admittedly not much...
