Review of Miss Potter (2006) by Naomi H — 20 Mar 2011
Miss Potter is polished and sweet, but its also damn boring. Zellweger recycles her Bridget Jones accent and brings her unique charm, which here feels overbearing, to this story of the author behind Peter Cottontail.
Miss Potter feels like an odd cross between period drama and children's film, and it never seems to mesh. Do I really care about this story? Not really to be honest, and I certainly wouldn't if I were a child.
McGregor does breath some life into the film, but he's snuffed out far too soon.
