Review of Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day (2008) by Jared M — 20 Jul 2009
Surprisingly charming! Amy Adams stars as an aspiring and promiscuous actress in late 1930's London who is befriended by an unemployed homeless woman (Frances McDormand) posing as her social secretary.
Lee Pace is engaging as the noble love interest for Adams. McDormand gives a simple but honest and captivating performance, while Adams is effulgent as a young woman who is reluctantly facing reality.
Sweet, funny, and touching.
