Rom-com set just before the II World War. The movie depicts only 2 days in the life of moralistic governess Miss pettigrew (a solid Frances McDormand). She gets a job at the household of singer/actress Delyssia Lafosse (an always reliable Amy Adams), a young woman with three lovers and an hiperactive social life.

From a difficult start Miss Pettigrew grows to like Delyssia and helps her to make up her mind to which lover should she marry. At the same time the young lady helps Miss Pettigrew to realize and recognize hew own strenghts and virtues and opens her eyes to a more relaxed take in life.

This is a sweet film with a very accomplished atmosphere thanks to the costumes, the music, the hairstyles, the cars...There is very possibly nothing new or truly remarkable about it but it is enchanting and entertaining in equal measure, one of them features where people learn from each other after the other person makes them realize the error of their ways.
