Review of Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day (2008) by Ian H — 08 Jun 2010

I'm generally not one for happy endings with life-changing stories, but this film just grabbed me and didn't let go.

Frances McDormand and Amy Adams in particular seemed to be perfect for their roles, and each other: they truly had a great chemistry. Add in opulent sets and costumes, an very entertaining script, fascinating and well-acted other roles, and an exceptionally engaging exploration of living a life so removed from your own and your background, and this had me transfixed throughout.
