Review of Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day (2008) by Frank N — 10 Aug 2010
Jobless, broke, and hungry, Miss Pettigrew steals what she thinks is a gonverness job from a collegue only to find herself the social secretary to an American actress flirting her way to success in London.
The plot follows the antics of these two polar opposite. The wit and elegance of the writing is suberb. It presents a warm, humerous tale amist the contrasting bleak backdrop of pre-World War II London.
As a fan of Pushing Daisies, I also liked seeing Lee Pace in a role other than the pie-maker. Enchanting film!
